The 2011 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este was held in the Italian town of Cernobbio on the banks of Lake Como in the northern part of the country from May 20th to 22nd.
The Trofeo BMW Group (the Best Of Show award) was awarded by the judges to to a 1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale:
The Coppa d'Oro prize, an award given by public vote, went to a 1942 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Bertone coupé which was previously seen at both Pebble Beach and Amelia Island in 2011.
The Aston Martin V12 Zagato won the Design Award for Concept Cars & Prototypes, also by public vote, at the Villa Erba showing.
The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este also served as the debut point for the BMW 328 Hommage concept, marking the 75th birthday of the classic 328 sports car from the late 30s.
And I think it's fair to say that most of these beauties will be featured on the Effect soon...
