Jon Olsson's Carbonfibre Audi R8

Jon Olsson is a Swedish professional freeskier and alpine ski racer. He made his debut in the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Val d'Isère in December 2010, as part of a plan to make the Swedish alpine ski team at the 2014 Winter Olympics. He holds nine Winter X-Games medals, has also won many other events including Big Air at Winter X-Games 08, The US Free Skiing Open in Vail, Colorado, The Red Bull Big Air in Åre and Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships in Riksgränsen in Sweden and the World Superpipe Championships in Whistler, British Columbia. If this wasn't enough, he has won five FIS ski races, with a 10 point result at Coronet Peak at the New Zealand National Championships which included a field of Olympians including Ben Griffin and Olivier Jenot. A hell of an athlete, and also a hell of a car nut.

Following on from his Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV and Nissan GT-R ski carriers (not to mention the road-legal Rebellion R1K he attempted to use in last year's Gumball 3000), this time Olsson’s got himself one really expensive snow plow with really ridiculously good looks. PPI Design worked their magic to turn Olsson’s Audi R8 into an outta this world carbon fibre widebody monster.

Mr Olsson elaborates:
I guess most of you car freaks have already figured out what car I have been perfecting over the past few months. So I thought it was time to go official with it!A few months ago I bought myself an Audi R8 V10 that we have since perfected in every way. In fact the rebuild price tag will be way more then the actual car itself… This time around we have spared no expense what so ever to create the best winter tourer ever! Thanks to PPIs full carbon body conversion this thing will be lighter, wider and way more powerful then the stock V10. We will start out with a basic kit from STaSIS that will be in the 750hp range but a 900hp+ kit in already in the works so expect a serious machine to crush the roads of Europe!More info to come as details gets finished! Picking it up at PPI Design (who has done an incredible job in every way) on the 20th to the drive it up to Stertman in Sweden for the STaSIS super charger installation. There will be plenty of chances to win rides in this thing so keep your eyes open! Maybe even a chance to win a taste of Gumball when we drive it north through Germany next week if all goes according to the plan…

When I first got the R8 my plan was to put a nice little spoiler on it and do a nice little "quick" pimp. As you can see the guys at PPI totally destroyed that plan. Countless hours has gone into creating this FULL carbon fibre widebody monster and its way beyond my expectations. (which were really really high).Seeing the naked 600 gram carbon mesh agains the snow is just surreal so now all I have to do is to get my winter tires on so I can really stretch her out! (Yes I did cruise around with this on summer tyres today!  )Will be back with a big "detail" update to really showcase the attention to detail that the guys at PPI have created.

What would David vine make of it all..?
